The three-track See Thru You isn't exactly as sunny as the above artwork would lead you to believe, but actually follows suit with the dark and deeply soulful "Back 2 You" cut we shared a while back. The same goes for this solid rework of Burns' title track by busy Atlanta tunesmith Distal—who, incidentally, has his own EP on the way via Grizzly, as well as a new, two-track 12" coming fromTectonic. Needless to say, we're happy to hear these two promising artists join forces on this hard-hitting and touching production."

JASON BURNS has been hidden away in his Cleveland Ohio studio making his unique personal brand of deep, dub based, soul music. A DJ and producer who was there, at the start of the inclusion of Dubstep in the US dance scene, his productions are influenced but move beyond Dubstep into R&B, 2Step, Soul, Garage, and House riddims. The early demos sent to the label blew us away. The raw soul, and minimal vocals, the sexiness, and warmth of his tunes are next level.

DIE 4 U a syrupy sexy bit of 2Step with pads and synth-lines that beg the listener to fall in love on the dance floor.
I CANT CHANGE is a dub tinged ballad, a note to love, expressing itself in traditional dub riddims with future forward construction that stays with you.
SEE THRU YOU swings and sways with a playful accusing vocal sample that will incite bump and grind way more than the deep head nod.
